By Dr. A.J. Drenth. As discussed in our ENTP personality profile, ENTPs are among the most versatile, open, adaptable of all types, displaying a broad array of interests and activities. Because of their openness and versatility, they can find love and compatibility with a number of different personality types. I’m an ENTP, and I have to say, I’m interested in hearing that a few of my fellow ENTP’s don’t like the INFJ’s, for the reason that they’re too ‘boring’, ‘overly sensitive’ or ‘too reserved’ or whatever; but in my opinion, they’re perfect for us f.
What you do with this information is up to you. Attraction is dating queen cover incredibly subjective matter. What entp and infj dating one person bores another. What repulses you might get the next average Joe all hot and bothered. But iinfj, you came here to nerd out. Warm, compassionate and affirming.
ENTP, while being rather laid back, may effectively take the lead in initiating spontaneous fun and interesting opportunities. INFJs love helping others in raising their spirits.
They are able to appeal to the heart and emotional needs that ENTP typically overlooks. ENTPs are very strong minded and well able to surmount emotional setbacks such as relationship breakups or personal failures. However, they may be susceptible to self-destructive and self-sabotaging behavior such as drug abuse or unhinged neuroticism.
ENTPs often have eccentric qualities that distinguish them from the norm. They steer away from orthodoxy and gravitate towards the path less travelled. They embrace their weirdness and may even accentuate it, but their tertiary Fe allows them to walk the line of absurdity and still be charming about it. They are mutually disinterested in superficial and inane banter and prefer conversations that are rife with novelty, humor and meaningfulness.
The INFJ and ENTP interaction is bound to include interesting discussions where their slightly different yet thoughtful perspectives get to be aired out. ENTPs tend to be verbally crafty and skilled in repartee. Until they encounter resistance, ENTPs will push the envelope endlessly. This type needs a partner who can set firm boundaries and stand by them. Everything is theoretical to them. ENTPs need to understand the greater principle or theory behind everything they do — which means their feelings and even their opinions will not always be straightforward.
The ENTP will turn almost everything into a philosophical discussion — including conflicts that arise in your relationship. They need to reason their way to how they feel. It just means that they get there through analysis rather than instinctive feelings. They can be incredibly blunt. They get right to the root of an issue and they appreciate when a partner does the same.
Emotional issues are best presented as challenges. Their interest in the world around them does not equal a lack of interest in you. ENTPs are often painted as flighty lovers who have no interest in maintaining a committed relationship.
In actuality, this is far from the truth. If a relationship seems like it will stand in the way of what they want out of life, the ENTP will cast it aside.
